Louis Victor Piniella was born August 28, 1943 in Tampa, Florida. As a player, he batted and threw right-handed. He made his MLB debut September 4, 1964 with the Baltimore Orioles. He played for the Orioles, Indians, Royals, and Yankees. He ended his playing days with a .291 AVG, 102 HR’s, and 766 RBI’s. His accolades include 1972 All-Star selection, 3 World Series Championships, 1969 AL ROY, 2x AL manager of the year, and 2008 NL manager of the year. He has managed the Yankees, Reds, Mariners, Devil Rays, and The Chicago Cubs.
